Woman's life is turned upside down by single motherhood and the heartbreaking loss of her other dog, but her tiny dachshund quietly steps up and becomes the emotional lifeline she didn't know she needed

Pets really can sense when we're not okay, and that's part of why the bond feels so special. 

Animal instincts aren't just a catch phrase to describe some woo woo magic. It's a real and biological part of an animal's whole being. This woman wanted to share all that her Dachshund has done for her. His name is Logan and he's her second Doxie. She adopted him when he was a puppy just days before she was supposed to move across the country. She already had a 4 year old Doxie at that point, but she just always knew she wanted two. They made the move together, and everything seemed to be in place. They went through everything together. She had a tough pregnancy and was sick a lot, she became a single mom unexpectedly when her partner left her. Even through all the bad days and hard times, Logan was there for her. He sat with her, listened to her, and would snuggle up to her no matter when. If she cried he would even snuggle right on her chest so she would feel better. 

She calls him her lifesaver, and it's true. Dogs can really save us, and her appreciation post inspired many others to write all the heartwarming and adorable ways that their pets saved them, helped them, or healed them.   • It's incredible to see what lengths animals will go through to help us. They're so sensitive, and it's truly beautiful to see how much they want to help. I know that if I'm down or crying, my cat will come right up to me and look at me. He looks at me in this way where he's wondering, “Mom, why are you crying?” and then he'll sit right on my lap. Our pets are attached to us in ways that we don't realize, but it's important to remember.
